I feel like my XL2 has cancer and only has a few months to live....

I asked my XL2 what I should do about this situation, and he said he can't handle it, he wants the easy way out, SHOOT HIM!
"What!, I said!. No!" I won't do such a thing!
He said it's the only way.
So yesterday I shot him. Today I shot him. Tommorrow I will shoot him again. and the day after that. Then all summer..... Then it's Ebay time....Panny will have my heart for a while....then my microwave generation fried brain will want something newer, better faster...and so the story goes.
I feel like a camera whore climbing the technologically suppressed ladder of corporate interest.
Well that's what you gotta do if you want your story to be portrayed by the latest gear I guess.
I just want to tell a moving story.
Anything to remove myself from the commercial feel of the "real" world.
Hey, whatever camera takes you away is the camera for me.
Well until then I guess I'll just soak up the sun. http://www.hdvd2go.com

My son, you have got it too, it is a killer and it is called G.A.S. = gadget aquisition syndrome . . . sorry I had to break the news to you so coldly, but lets face facts and look ahead now, shall we.

I bet some people are trippin that have Xl2's and Sony's what with Pani and JVC offering some crazy cameras; poor bastids. Alas, I still have the DVX100 (Minus the A) and will for a few years I am sure. And it's all good. I have stories to tell and experience still to gain and no camera is going to make or break that fact; it's all up to me now.

It's funny, but I don't see myself selling my DVX100. There are so many other opportunities where you don't need 1080P. And I'm still blown away by what it produces everytime I capture footage. And there's still so much I haven't learned about this camera.

Yeah, but the tape deck is still going to be on there. I do see what you mean though, I am definitely keeping mine as a backup. I'll use it as a b-roll or demote it as my run and gun camera.

I'm still happy with my XL2. Just shot a corporate promo that I'm editing like mad to get ready for Wed. night. I think it came out fantastic!
