i don't know where to put this

i dont; know where this question should go. this is probably an incredible stupid question but i was watching the special features of a movie the other day and i noticed the deleted scenes and clips of footage look really bland (if that's the right word) compared to the footage used in the main feature. and i wanted to know how do they do this? is it done in and editing program? or a separate program? or is it some expensive prosses?

They hadn't done "post-production." It's where they correct and stylize the footage beyond that captured by the camera. You can also add cgi, etc. at this stage.

No dumb questions. Just my dumb answer!

Merry Christmas (or are you celebrating Fourth of July down under since it is July in Australia?)

[the foregoing is a much better example of a dumb question].
