OK so pretty much, I know heaps about technical computer skills. BUT hardly anything in the cinematography side of things, what shots you should or shouldn't cut together ect. so I am hoping to learn!!

This is pretty much the main source of my income, touring around Australia ect filming this sort of stuff,

but I really want to take it next level! Where would the best place be to start reading///watching and learning the stuff :)

Regards, Zac Gordon.

Who pays you to film? the club or the dj's? I think your going to really need a style to separate yourself from every other guy shooting club stuff, I don't have any ideas, just that it would get old quick watching this over and over. Like maybe turn it into some sort of story, follow a group from the audience, and document their night, IDK, just brainstorming.

I agree with the above, this got old in about ten seconds for me. Your shots look good enough, though I would like to see some more definition in the grade (start with higher exposure if possible and drop shadows to add depth maybe). They just all look the same. The biggest issue is that I see no point in this video. What is it for? What do you want to communicate to the audience? What emotional response should they have? Show us who the performers are, show us what feel they bring to the club. Show us who we care about on the dance floor, outside of the generic mass. Think about why this video needs to exist and what it's supposed to do.

Some really nice shots in there. Just needs something to link them all together a little more coherently. Some sort of basic narrative or back-story I reckon. Otherwise keep up the good work. There is plenty of work to be found doing club videos.

yes!! I have been wanting to turn these into cinematic stories ect! This should push me to actually do it. Ok...more emotion and story ect.... alright :) ps, the grade I love atm :D I don't think I will be changing that soon, I dislike heavy colours in clubs, I like to soften it out and kill the blacks a bit. but I shall be trying to get more emotion ect. I like that

Cinematography is trying to make a film mean more than the sum of its visual components. You've got a really good look and I like the aesthetic, but even adding the most basic of story could add to this.

Study up on Montage theory, maybe thats a good direction to start at.

I only watched the first 20 seconds (my telephone rang) but it grabbed my attention. I liked it. I liked the intro graphic but not the milky way, though. What does the milky way have to do with a club? Just some constructive criticism....great start, though!

Im not going to go in too much detail as I think you have some good advice already.

Just curious as to what you're shooting these on? Generally speaking I saw too much over exposure and also found the picture a little muddy. I suspect some of that has to do with camera limitations. Although on the cinematography side this is what I'd work on first. Get the image right and then you can add to from there.

You're going to get over exposure "generally" due to the lights punching from all over the place, however I like to ride the hottest parts so skin isnt a total wash out 'most of the time'. Heres a couple of samples from what Im talking about from shooting The Presets.
