After that...........will try to figure out how to put in a turret on top. Must be able to disassemble flat and the opening weatherproof. Shouldn't be too hard.

What's a Jeep Cherokee, pretending to be a Humvee, without a turret? Boring.

Did I ever tell ya, I like "one of a kind vehicles".

Well, real HMMWVs aren't street-legal for private citizens anyway, are they? Or would you have wanted one strictly as a picture car?

A few years back some company was selling a kit for converting Jeeps into little HMMWV-looking vehicles. They were kind of cool.

Actually, come to think of it $30,000 for a real military-dress HMMWV in good running condition doesn't sound too bad at all.

...you know, if you put together one or two of these and hired midget actors, I bet no one would know the difference...

Here in California, they are. They just need some mods. But using it as a commuter car would be less than smart, the fuel and upkeep would kill ya. I would use it just for the biz.

Of course I would get one like this:

My brother is a big off-road buff, this is his third jeep, when one breaks, he'll buy a beater and switch parts over. that jeep's currently in Utah now, drove it across the country

You can pull it off if you paint it camo. People will just recognize it as a military vehicle. It's like a white van with "Ambulance" on the side. People take it at face value.
