I bought a samsung SC-D353 miniDV cam to use as a capture deck. When I import footage using Vegas6, it says average frame rate was 28.45 and average data rate was 3.91 is that okay? Then the footage thumbnail looks all scrambled and messed up, you cant see anything but green boxes and scrambled video. When I open the file outside vegas it looks relatively normal but the audio sounds like slo motion...
I've had firewire problems with my DVX that I cant explain but maybe its the dvx prone firewire issue, because when I hook my DVX up via firewire to try and capture, my computer wont even recognize my DVX as an imaging system under device manager. Which btw really pisses me off....
I realized it might be that the tape is bad, i grabbed one of my old tapes and tried to capture some old footage, everything looks fine on playback, the avg frame rate was 30 and the avg data rate was 3.45
now could someone help me out to understand what may have happened to my DVM63MQ tape? It was practically brand new, I had just ordered it from Bhphoto, and it is the first one I used o the 5-pack. The OLD mq tape that captured fine was the original tape which came with my DVX a long long time ago, and its still rocking on, so im a little confused, thanks.
