Close. Disney Animation. Even closer to EVS than Dreamworks! No one knows about the building, but it's on Sonora, just across from Imagineering.
CineAlta said:Congrats and Welcome! The DVX100B should come with a lens cap on the camera. I got a Tiffen UV filter, and it fits nicely over that, as well. Not sure about Schneider filters. Barry Green's DVX book is outstanding, and will really open your eyes as to the capabilities of this camera!
Thanks for the welcome!
The camera has the cap, but with the UV filter on, it doesn't attach anymore. No big deal. I'll drop by EVS on Monday and pick up another cap or figure out a solution.
In the last couple hours I started having fun inside and outside with the camera. I'm already blown away. A lot of what's making me really happy may be old news to a lot of DV users, but I'm loving the flexibility and control the camera affords. It's a real camera! No silly auto-everything no-control over your image stuff. Plus, the fact that it has free run TC is awesome.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to log some of the footage and see how it looks in Final Cut.
Next rudimentary question: how well does machine control work with this camera combined with FC? I've output to DV decks via Firewire, but never captured from a DV cam.
