I believe The Da Vinci Code

Yeah, the book is fictional... that's it... this talk should not be about that... I do think some people will take the fictional book (Da Vinci Code) too far and accept it as historical fact, which it is not... thats the ONLY thing I would be worried about.

Incorrect. I'm leaving work and I'm going to get the stuff together to prove it.

I'll be interested to hear what you have to say :)

This is getting interesting. If people can keep cool and be openminded on both sides then I'm cool with it.

Like everything else, it seems, I'll probably see it on DVD. I have been a big fan of both Ron Howard and Tom Hanks. My concern with this movie is not the subject matter. I prefer fictional narrative over documentary. My concern is that 90% of the critics are finding the movie dull. One I heard today basically felt Hanks performance wasn't up to his usual standards, basically mailing it in.

The last Howard/Hanks movie I saw was magic...Apollo 13. This one, I just hope it's entertaining.

Does anyone remember the uproar caused by this movie: http://yoursay.imdb.com/title/tt0095497/ ?

I really don't see what the big deal is if Jesus was married. I don't think it would raddle the foundations of the world as we know it.

Bingo! Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Much of the text of sacred books (take the Bible for instance) wasn't meant to be taken page-for-page literally. Much was meant to act as as tool for inspiration. Some people take the complete opposite view.

Put it this way:
For we screenwriters/filmmakers, "If it ain't on the page, it ain't on the stage" is the golden rule...Sometimes I think those who take the Bible too literally have come up with a similar mantra, "If it ain't in the bible, then it's libel" or some such jazz.

Until recently, I didn't think that there were really people who thought the earth was only 7 or 8 thousand years old & didn't believe that dinosaurs ever existed. Boy was I wrong. I have talked to people who whole-heartedly believe just that (because it's not in The Book.) It is with these folks that any and all conversation becomes futile (and should be ended ASAP as I quickly learned/did.)

We could make money selling T-shirts that read this.

Damn...maybe I should edit the post before someone beats us to production. Wanna go halfies on the endeavor, Hudson?

Edit:
Hell, think we can have 'em printed by tonight?! We could clean house outside of some strategically-chosen mega-plexes. Hmmmmm....

IMHO - It is pretty lame to take anything from Hollywood as historical fact. And if you do… black marker NAÏVE across your forehead and post a picture for us please. For me, that includes films like the passion, flight 93 and the D code. I can’t believe the amount of times I heard “ that is how it really was” when the passion was released. Same goes for flight 93. Hollywood seems to do a better job at closing our minds rather than opening them.

I know that for a fact The Passion was quite accurate to depict what is in written scripture, which I believe is true.

United 93 was written using transcripts of the actual day and event, so it is very accurate as well.

Hahaha, how right you are, Kova. Took you long enough to weigh in.

Sorry no... the bible is proven true... And I won't get into the science of it and all, but creation, the earth, we, are testaments to the bible's veracity.
To my knowledge, the Bible has neither been proven true nor false. That's the whole point behind the word "faith" (see below)

faith |f??| noun 1 complete trust or confidence in someone or something : this restores one's faith in politicians.
2 strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
• a system of religious belief : the Christian faith.
• a strongly held belief or theory : the faith that life will expand until it fills the universe.
