I have not yet purchased my dvx. Will be in about a month. I found what appears to be the best deal for me at Profeel. Was wondering if anyone can concur with that conclusion. I have been reading the forums hear for about 3 weeks now and have seen many other places recommended, but this seemed to be the best deal out of all the authorized dealers. Welcome aboard. Since you are located in Sacremento, California you may want to check out Zotz Digital which is located in Grants Pass, Oregon. Great service and prices. If you do not see what you are looking for on their web site give them a call or send an e-mail, they most likely have it.

I emailed zotc for a price on the basic price of the dvx100a.

Well the J and R site says that the 100a is over 3400. I can get it for 3260 with shipping from profeel.

I just called J and R. Had a very strange experience. Very helpful person to talk to, but I am unsure if they actually have the dvx100a. they seem to know nothing about an A version. They received their cameras in January, but they are all showing dvx100. they also do not show the dvx100 being cancelled and the dvx100a ever being model they could order. This worries me. I do not know what to say.

Someone help me out on this one.

I just spoke with alex and even he said he needs check if they have the 100a. he said he could only offer the 100. Also I checked with panasonic and they said some places are considered authorized dealers of consumer items, but not of professional items. I was very surprised.

I would have to pay sales tax because I live in California. Also they are 100 dollars more than profeel(3260 including shipping)

if you plan on purchasing from an unauthorized dealer, why not just purchase from beachcamera.com or buydig.com?  beach has it for $3209 shipped and buydig has it for $3219 shipped.  i was debating this and decided to purchase from an authorized dealer.  i live in california so the best price you can receive from an authorized panasonic dealer is from willoughbys.com for $3342.95 shipped.  if you decide to go this route, please give Nar a call...he's at ext. 215.  i just received my dvx100a and all is good!

It is a 3% CA Filmmakers Tax (Just letting you know in case you are banking on the 7 % Sales Tax!)

the website of profeel says they are an authorized dealer. Should I not believe them. Check they site out and confirm or deny this information

panasonic only seems to show you places that you can walk into to buy from. Not the online authorized dealers.

christie, i've already checked directly from a highly regarded panasonic representative.  they are not an authorized dealer otherwise i would've purchased from them 2 weeks ago.

I was recommened to use willoughbys as an authorized dealer a few post ago. I checked with the panasonic site and they aren't an authorized dealer either.

i can assure you that willoughby's is. jan crittenden of panasonic verified it for me before i purchased. while i was placing my order, my salesman was talking about the panasonic rep coming the week before to demo the ag-dvc30. also, on my dvx100a box, there was a shipping label that had panasonic's address from washington shipped to willoughby's.
