Looking forward to hearing more about this product - definitely post your thoughts and pics when you get a chance!

That's sad to hear about Joel's wife - I hope all is ok.

i will def post. got an email from joel he says wife had broken arm and ankle baby is fine for being hit at 50 miles an hr all is good.

it took awhile put i put the ff on the cam late nite last, so i havent shot with it yet but i got to say joel knows how to build fantastic gear.

I was shocked to hear about Joel's wife and my prayers go out to her and him as well. Joel is a fantastic person, honourable and extremely talented. My reason for posting was to sing his praises about the new baseplate and rod support system I just got from him, to say the least I am totally blown away and would encourage others to try his gear. I was so pleased with my mattebox that I waited until he was ready to release his baseplate and rod system. Joel has been through a rough year and I admire his courage and determination. He is a small guy making great gear and we need to support small business in both of our great countries.

Yeah joel is a great guy and from his last email his wife and baby are fine. i too waited a long time for his ff infact i put off buying the vocas or the redrock cuz i heard of his great gear he cranks out plus before i bought for him i had emailed him some questions and he answered all of them and gave me the confidence in him. so it was well worth the wait. from all the pics ive seen on his site his gear looks rock solid sexy.

Ok I finally got to shoot this wkend with my new ff from hyson. boy ive got to say its a wonderful piece of equipment. its smooth rock solid well built tool. im so glad i waited for it. it makes everything a convience to focus especially while on the tripod. i posted pics just click on the flickr link below.

Any more info on Joel's FF? His site isn't updated yet. How's the play or (hopefully) lack thereof? How many, if any, lens gears are included and how do they attach? Thanks.

I havent gone to his site for awhile now so dont know if there is new info or not. theres no play on mine. i got 3 total gear rings. my setup is different i dont have rods so my setup is to where sits behind the wide angle with the focus head slides into slits that holds the board that hold the ff. the gear rings slides right onto the the focus ring much like the century optics manual focus ring does.
