Hypothetical: dead pixel deal killer?

I know it's my decision to make but I'm just curious what others would do?

I take my DVX100a out of the box, charge up the battery, look through the eyepiece: white dead pixel in the middle of the viewfinder. Contact seller (who in this case was EVS; of whom I can't say enough about their willingness to accommodate despite Panasonic's refusal to regard a dead pixel as a defect) and they willl replace it including return shipping. Yes I've just started a project and yes if I return it I will miss a couple of days shooting but at this juncture it's not a big problem, however I would just as soon not lose the camera for the week it will take for turn-around.

Question: do you lose the week for replacement or do you suck it up and hope you don't think to yourself everytime you look in the viewfinder that you paid $3500 for a dead pixel? (the actual picture taken by the camera is fine, BTW)

Just curious

Hi again Alan. If it were me I would get it changed. Like you said, everytime you look through the viewfinder you will feel a bit pissed off. Another thing is that a dead pixel will affect the resale value if you ever decide to sell or upgrade the camera.
