Is there any way when rendering a web file; ie: .mov, real, or wmv, to add a hyper link to navigate to a website? I know you can put information in the index/summary area, but I thought I had seen something like that before. . .
I'm pretty sure WMVs allow things like that...if the end-user is set up to allow it, too, of course. And I'm going to assume most people have turned off that feature for reasons of security.
I have no idea how to do it, but I've seen it in readings Ive done. (Possibly even in the Vegas manual...hmmm...)
What's a hyper link, and how would it be used? I think I'm missing what you guys are talking about. Like a link that the user could actually activate/click on from WITHIN the video itself when watching it?
Hmmm ... I've not really had a need for it yet, but it could be cool to add for one of my clients. Wonder if it can be done through Vegas, or if it's got to be done with some developer's kit via WMV10, etc.
I just rendered something to WMV this morning and if I'm not mistaken there is a tab on the far right of the render options that allows you to enter data about the clip such as who shot it, the title, etc and I believe you can enter the link there. I've played clips that scroll a link right above the little shuttle area. I'll check it when I get home.
A little more reading...and it looks like the link won't be clickable in the video. It looks like it wil automatically open that web page when the time is right.
RealMedia, on the other hand, seems to have a HotSpotBrowse feature, which sounds like a clickable link.
Use the "C" key to insert this command. Real allows a hotspot, WMV does not. WMV will auto open the webpage for you. You can additionally specify text in the command for the browser while you wait for the window to open.
