HVX200 with a Glidecam

I am a Glidecam V-20 owner, but my HVX appears to be too light for the Glidecam. I do not want to add a lot of weight to the Glidecam in order to get the spring-loaded arm to become parallel to the ground, as is recommended. It becomes too heavy on the back of the operator when adding this much weight. I contacted Glidecam to see if the V-16 springs could be used on my V-20 and they said they could.

They sent the springs to me and I installed them (removed the e-clips on the three of the pins on the arm, and slid out the pins) in about 10 minutes. It did not come with instructions, but it turned out to be easy.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know if you have a lightweight camera and the V-20, you can make it work without adding a bunch of weights. Just change the springs. It costs $90 for the set of two springs, and they took about 4 days to arrive.

Hmm...I have a V-8 and the HVX+ accesories is a bit much for it. You think I can get stronger springs for mine?
The arm on the V-8 looks like the same arm as the V-16. I would e-mail/call Glidecam and tell them your delimma and ask if the V-16 springs will fit the V-8. They look like they will fit, but I don't know if the vest is made to hold more weight. The Glidecam people were very helpful. I can type up some instructions for replacing the springs if they are compatible. Let me know what you find out.
