How do these compare? The Director Of Photography of Fox's "24" preferred the JVC HD100 with the Redrock Micro M2 over the Panasonic HVX200 with the P+S Technic mini35. Any thoughts?

very well trodden ground my friend.

Are you looking to get one of them? If so, then try each one out and then investigate which workflow is better for you overall. That will decide for you. Each camera has sucess stories.

good times....

HVX has better picture quality, but more difficult workflow.

Yeah, that drag and dropping my media is a real pain in the ass.:violin:

I MUCH rather digitize with tape.

I think it's worth digging in the archives of DVXuser for some answers. Realize that we're people, we have subjective opinions, and some of us are... :)

So, if I am doing heavy VFX, go HVX? How does it have better quality?

If you're doing heavy VFX, you will most definitely benefit from both the intraframe compression and the superior color space of the HVX.
