New to the scene. Greetings all. Just shot a short film (15min)

HVX200 + [35mm Adapter|Nikon's] @720/24p |16:9 > P2 (2) 4gig Cards > G-Raid 500gb > FCP

Looking to get a HDCAM master:

[1] What is the easiest way to get FCP session into a AVID DS or Smoke System for Title Fx's and Color grading? Do you recommend I bounce down native files into one master file then import into AVID/SMOKE?

[2] Can anyone recommend a cost effective FCP HD finishing suite in NYC ?

[3] Anyone else have experience, advice or tips regarding this workflow.

Many Thanks.
MrMoe

[1] - Get Automatic Duck (www.automaticduck.com) and convert the sequence into a sequence that an Avid can understand...then re-link the footage in the Avid? Hmmm...interesting, does Avid DS or Smoke read MXF files? I know that you cannot transfer the imported QT files, because they are in a codec only a computer with FCP installed can read. What you might have to do here is output to DVCPRO HD tape, then capture that tape on a DS or Smoke for color correction.

Personally I don't do that. Either I color correct myself (I use Colorista) or I take it to a post facility with FCP and have a colorist using Color, or Final Touch, or DaVinci (they output to tape first for DaVinci) and have them do the color correct and output.

[2]...sorry...I am in LA

[3] If you start with FCP...finish with FCP. Find a post facility with FCP that can color correct and output for you...expecially since all your footage comes from p2 cards. Trying to convert the project to Avid or Smoke and have them relink to the MXF files...or whatever...might be QUITE a headache.

It is always wise to figure out how you will finish a show before you shoot one frame. Knowing that is actually a factor in how you shoot. PLANNING.

did you find the online suites for FCP HD in new york?
would you please share that information?
I've done some stuff with DVCPRO HD (1080 24pa) and also would like to get HDCAM (or D5) master...
I'd really like to know how much it costs... have no idea...
thanks, thanks, thanks...
