HVX200 + Letus Extreme SCENE file "convertions"

Has anyone experimented in creating 2 scene file setting, one for the HVX200 WITH Letus Extreme adapter and one for the HVX WITHOUT Letus Extreme adapter to make the footage look as identical as possible (less the DOF that is)?

Had a great talk with one of our users here yesterday and told him I am buying the HVX and already ordered my Letus Extreme. We talked about shooting some footage with the adapter but also shooting some without (fast moving race cars etc...).

Since adapter sofens the image some he suggested creating 2 scenes files that I can easily access to even out the overall image quality. So when using the adapter you go to a scene file and when removing the adapter for some of those fast shots, you go to the other scene file. But when looking at the footage back to back it would seem fairly even in image quality.

I thought maybe someone has already done the scene file adjustment work and posted it somewhere here? So at least I have a starting point to work from?

PS: I wil be using Nikon lenses.

It matters. I've been trying to do the same thing, have to experiment more but getting the two to match is important.

Disjecta has done one for the XHA1 both with / without adapter - you may want to search for it and look for similar settings that can be adjusted on the HVX - It's his VividRGB setting modified for the Letus Extreme shooting he's been doing - I used it with an A1 and a Brevis last week - worked wonderfully - I'd post it if I had it right here handy...

Your lenses will have an impact on it, definitely. Some render more contrast, some less, etc.

With the Letus35 FE, it wasn't hard at all to develop two scene files that matched very, very well together, but it was dependent on two things: having a color-matched set of lenses, and having something like DV Rack so I could split-screen the image.

Without knowing the properties of your lenses, I don't think I could do the same thing for you. You'd have to do it yourself with your particular lenses. But it can be done.

Yes, he is the one who suggested going that route and it makes a lot of sense, maybe I will PM him and see if he can post his settings again...

not a bad idea - I think they were posted over at dvinfo - I'm looking at Brevis footage shot using his settings and it's absolutely stunning - he did some work to dial that look in - I'm grateful for it :)
