Footage was shot with an HVX200 at 720p24pn, captured in final cut pro, and edited in a 960x720 progressive sequence. My customer needs the footage put onto a mini dv tape, and i am having massive problems trying to figure this out! It appears that there are so many subtle things that need to be done in order to get this thing to work!
Do i have to create an SD sequence first? Or can i output it from an HD sequence. What should the exact sequence settings be? What other settings need to be altered? I feel like i've tried everything. Thankyou in advance for your help , as always.

Have you tried using the easy setups? Use the easy setup for DV/Panasonic DVCPro :: DV-NTSC and make your frame rate 23.98. Then create a new sequence, copy your entire HD timeline into the new SD timeline and do NOT change the timeline settings to match the footage when it asks. May have to render before you can output to tape, but then it should work.
