HVX200 DVCPRO50 480i/24P .MXF - is it 24fps or 30fps, interlaced or progressive scan?

I've completed a 3-day shoot with my HVX200 set to DVCPRO50 480i/24P and no matter what I do, Premiere Pro 2.0 w/ Axio LE lists the footage as 29.97fps once the MXF files have been imported:

Whatever project settings I use, the footage is really choppy and interlaced. I'm starting to get worried the client is going to be unhappy with the final result...this was my first job using a P2 workflow.

It seems the project settings I want fall somewhere between the presets, but I'm unable to create the perfect settings via the Custom window. It seems I would want an SD 4:3 DVCPRO50 24fps lower fields first (0.9). The closest I can get is SD 4:3 DVCPRO50 24fps progressive scan (1.0).

Is anyone here shooting with an HVX200 and editing MXFs in PP2 with the Axio LE...or some other method I'm unfamiliar with? Is my only hope to convert these MXF files to another format before importing them?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
