HVX200 batteries charging veeery slow

Just a quick question....I'm sure this has gotten worse over time, but my batteries (dvxuser, specialized comm, and panny) are taking almost 5 hours to charge and only lasting about 1 1/2 to 2 hours? Can someone tell me how long it usually takes for you to charge a 5600mah to 6000mah battery. I need a gage of some sort to figure out if my chargers or batteries are going bad. Thanks
 
The charging time is affected by 2 factors. First, the battery capacity. On the same charger a battery with 2x capacity than another will take 2x time to charge. So, if your batteries are taking relatively long time to charge, they are probably still OK, have not aged. Second, the charger design. A cheap (EBay quality) charger is only capable of slow charging vs more powerful and more expensive charger.
 
Hmmm well both of these chargers are panny chargers that came with the camera, so not expensive but not cheap either. Still I don't ever remember having to wait this long when I first got my camara...it seems to have gotten worse.
 
OK, I did not know what do you use. The Panasonic charger should take ~5 hours to charge a 5600mah battery from fully drained to full. May be in the past you had them in partially discharged state, now they are fully discharged?
 
When in doubt... buy a dolgin charger (2 or 4 battery)... Just got mine and it chargesw (4) 5600mAh batteries in about 2.5 hours or so. It will also tell you what is happening with each battery. You can get Panny, Sony, JVC etc. battery plates when you order either charger...
