HVX200 and the Brevis settings

I've searched this forum for the answer to my question and I have yet to find it.

What is a good basic setting for using the brevis with the hvx200? My footage seems a little off. When I watch my footage on a normal standard tv there seems to be interlaced lines or artifacts. Which is odd because when i watch my stock footage i dont have that problem. Perhaps I pressed a switch by accident. But its not as sharp as footage I have seen from other users in this forum. I have set back focus by focusing on the ground glass until it is sharpest and then adding the 35mm lens. Besides that i dont know what else i can do to get perfect focus. I am using a hd monitor which shows my footage in focus. But when i look at it in my lcd tv it looks soft. I realize my dvd is not hi def. But i have seen a hvx200 redrock movie and it looks sharp on my lcd. So if someone where so kind as to share with me their settings for getting good HVX200/ and brevis footage. I am talking about frame rates and everything.

thanks in advance

P, hopefully you're set up on the Cinevate forum with access to the owner's section. If not, pmail me there and we'll fix you up. There's a fair amount of material there to help, and also an ftp site for you to upload footage. Are you doing the flip using premiere pro 1.5 by any chance?

PIMP ,
There's so many possible settings for an HVX200 that what you will get here is taste. If you are having a significant problem with wierd artifacting it would be more valuable for you to post your settings and all the parameters of how you are shooting. Perhaps we can spot something wrong.
Are you shooting HD or SD - progressive or interlace etc.
Brevis should not be giving you any articating or interlace jaggies.

It might be just the monitor i am viewing in. Because when i watch it on a standard def tv it looks in focus but there is some weird interlace stuff going on but it just might be a crappy television. On the otherhand i dont see interlace stuff on my hd lcd but it looks kind of soft and out of focus. As for the settings, here they are. These were recommended to me by someone.

Operation: FILM CAM
Frame Rate: 24
Syncro Scarn: 200.0d
Detail C: +1
V DETAIL: +1
DETAIL CORING: 1+
CHROMA 0
CHROMA PHASE 0
COLOR TEMP 0
MASTER PED -3
A IRIS 0
NEWS GAMMA: OFF
GAMMA PRESS B
KNEE AUTO
MATRIX: NORM
SKIN TONE DTL: OFF
V DETAIL FREQ: THIN

I set the focus on the hvx200 to 9-10 and the zoom to 75-80

I ve never posted footage before. So I have to figure out how to do that.

As for the spacer I am just using a 72mm step down ring to attach the adaptor.

thanks

matty,
how much spacer do you use with the HVX & Brevis? Were you unhappy with the edge to edge sharpness without it?

PIMP, Your set-up should not introduce any problems. You could raise the detail a few numbers to 3 or so though. Sounds like you need to scope out the monitoring process. How much different does it look than your naked HVX? Is that also soft?

No the spacer is really for FX1, Z1U, and some XH-A1 owners where extra zoom-in room is required. The HVX has outstanding macro abilities and therefore does not need help. Using the Brevis with the flip module, you won't need the spacer with any cams :-)
