Hey Filmmakers i am in a bit of a time crunch and am working on a project where i have about $3000 budget to put a 35mm adapter list for HVX200. i know there are countless debates on which is the best and ive been leaning towards the redrock m2 hd bundle just because it comes with everything i need. i am wondering if there is a better clearer decision. i love the footage from the brevis and the sgpro but i need to start shooting in in 2-3 weeks.

could any 35mm adapter user shed some light and maybe provide a equipment list that inclusdes all i need to get a 35mm adapter onto the hvx with a follow focus. and which one you would recommend me getting.

thank you so much i hope this will also help other who are really looking at the adapters but cant settle on one. thanks again!!

Well you can go through our lists and opinions on here, or go with the Redrock M2 and be all done in a one stop shop. Talk to Brian V. and hell get you expedited im sure. Then make sure you have a 50mm lens. Most people go with Nikon and youll have plenty of money left over for the 50mm and maybe an extra lens or 2.

as far as a mattebox i would recommend the hysonfilms.com one, he also sells a follow focus , but might not have them in stock.

I highly recommend the brevis but don't think you would get in in your time frame. It has very minimal light loss and you can use your prime lenses without rails. Takes literally a minute or two to set up.

The M2's are probably in stock ready to ship so might be your best bet and as you said comes with everything (rails etc). Just remember the M2 takes a big hit on light loss so I hope you have some decent lights to play with.

You can start shopping for lenses now. I personally have canon fd's but a lot of people here use nikons, good thing with them is they all have the same mount. With your budget you'll be able to get all the primes you need (24, 35, 50, 85, 100, 135mm). If you get the M2, getting the fastest lenses you can is extra important.

Make sure you give yourself a handful of days to get used to the adaptor and fine tune it.

Cynic, hysonfilms is still closed (I've been checking every couple days for what seems like an eternity now!).
