HVX shot Squeeze (16:9) on tape output FCP to Quicktime problem

Ok,
So this was my first time Using the HVX. I borrowed it sans P2 cards, but I am a four year DVX veteran. I shot in squeeze mode and final output will be for web (for the time being). I have all my anamorphic settings correct in the timeline, etc, etc... I did a test yesterday on a rough cut to get a sense of the edit outside of FCP and the aspect ratio seemed slightly verticle and slightly squeezed, but not to the point of 4:3. Normally in the past I ususally did exports to compressor for dvd and not too much qtime for web work.. also on the DVX i used to mask and crop for 16:9 with a slight upres to good results (non anamorphic 16:9)... Does anybody know the correct settings for anamorphic 16:9 output to quicktime with footage shot squeeze on the HVX?

Much thanks!

I would create a preset in Compressor that has all final settings you want and then use that. Compressor is great for doing stuff on autopilot for you. Once you have that preset in there you're made. If you're not too familiar with Compressor, check out the Apple Pro Training Series Compressor Quick Reference guide. Its only $20 and could be a valuable tool for you.

Also, since the Quicktime playback is a bit off, try going into the Movie Properties. Check the video track and check what sizing QT is playing it back at. Perhaps you'll need to tinker with something there. I've had that a couple of times, but never examined why (just handed the file off for who ever it was for and got back to my normal work). Anyway, just another thing to investigate/try.

cheers.
