HVX & Photoshop Filters....

I'm sure that I've heard/seen that its possible to export a video sequence from FCP as individual frames and then send them to photoshop to batch process them with a filter say WaterColor then send it back to FCP.

Can anyone confirm this and also if there are any tutorials on the subject (Google brings up nothing obvious!)
Cheers

I did this a while ago and I will try to point you in the right direction. I wasn't able to output individual frames from FCP. I imported the movie file into after effects and then exported (I think) as a photoshop (maybe a targa sequence?)sequence into individual frames. I believe you can also export a movie file into individual frames from Quicktime Pro. If you don't have after effects or Quicktime Pro, using QP would be the cheaper option.
This is where it becomes hazy, but you can probably find more information elsewhere. I think you start by opening up the action window in PS. Press the record button (i think it is at the bottom of the window). Open up your first frame. Add your effects. Then press stop record. Go to batch menu (I think under the edit menu) and it will ask if you want to apply that action to every clip in that folder and start it. I remember I initially had difficulty but that it eventually worked. I hope that helps, sorry it's not exact.

Oh yeah. In order to import it back into FCP, go to the preferences menu, then to the importing still images tab. Change the length to 1 frame. If all your clips in the bin are in order. You should be able to highlight all of them, then drag them all into the timeline at once.
