HVX+M2+MicroX= movement problems...

So i've been shooting with the M2 for about a year now. Previously had it hooked up to my DVX then i upgraded to an HVX toward the end of last year. Right around April I got the MicroX addition to the rig to solve the flip issue. I didnt notice this problem until i started using the MicroX.

It seems that whenever I do a pan or tilt or any kind of movement, no matter how soft or gracefully I do it, the image wants to jump. say I pan left to right from point A to point B, when I stop at point B, the image jumps a little farther than that point, as if I have very unsteady hands. Typically this jitter happens when I start and stop the camera movement. I've tried all the settings I can possibly try, from the exposure, to shutter speed, frame rate, low light, bright lights... everything. it just keeps happening. It also seems to have a delay in image as opposed to the HVX by itself. When I take the adapter off everything is fine again. I can do quick whip-pans without passing the point B or shaking the image.

I made sure that everything was nice and secure, no loose pieces or anything... I cant for the life of me figure this out... when i get a chance I'll try to post what the clip looks like when it spazzes out like that. I was in a shoot last night and it was pissing me off so much i took off the red rock and just shot with the HVX only. any ideas, advice, or diagnosis?

I am looking for feedback on the microx. I would love to hear from anyone that owns one. I was going to sell the M2 and purchase a Letus. But for $345 this may be a good option.

Are there any "Oh by the ways?" Is there additional light loss? Will it truly lock in so you don't have to adjust ground glass focus for each set up? Is it a legit device that is well thought out or is it a nice try? Does it make your rig more clunky and big? I use the HVX-200 and Nikons.

Thanks much!

I just started putting a rig together with dvx100b, nikon 35mm lens, M2 adapter, and the almighty new MicroX, is there a big light loss with the set up all attached, cos shooting with just the camera, its bright, but with MicroX, M2 all attached it seems really dark. Even with the Iris all the way up.

well, that's one of the drawbacks to adapters, you lose a good amount of light. You just have to work around it.

Make sure to check the nikon lens' aperture also.
