HVX/M2 Lens Advice

Hi Everybody,

As you well noticed this is my first post here on these extreamly informative forums. A little introduction to myslef, i've been writing a thesis on HD for my final year of university and i intend on shooting on an HVX200.

Now i've been looking around the forum and found that the Redrock M2 adapter is a fantastic piece of kit and would add a great deal of value to the piece i shoot.

I also hear that Nikon lenses seem to be the weapon of choice when it comes to shooting with the M2, however i well and truely am lost in what type of lenses to buy, im looking for a wide angle, standard and zoom lens.

If any of you can point me in the right direction as to the right type of lenses i would need it would be most appreciated.

My advice is to get the fastest lenses you can afford -- minimum f1.8.

id say an f1.4 as the highest for your standard angle. www.keh.com has a huge selection of Nikon lens's ranging from f1.2 50mm to f4.5 zoom lenses.

You wont find anyything in a zoom lens that is below f3.5 at all though.

Can someone answer this question:

Can you use professional 35mm lenses such as Zeiss Primes and Cookes on the M2?

i think you can find that info on the redrockmicro.com site.

you can use them on the SGPRO. wayne makes mounts for alot of lenses.

Yes, you just have to buy the PL mount for the M2.
