So I got it and tried it and it wouldn't focus properly. Yes I went over it a thousand times and called other people who said I was doing it right.
I went to a friends house, who also has one, though his is canon while mine is PL. Upon looking inside then we realized the distance of the ground glass from the motor is very different. When I repositioned the glass, it looked much better, though still not perfect, and no where near corresponding with the marks on the lens (I was using Zeiss super speeds that had recently been collumated.)
The problem was mpst aparent in the wide lenses.
is there an exact distance the ground glass is suppose to be from the edge of the PL mount face?
Yes, I have the 72mm HD achromat and the unit is perfectly centered, and I focus without the lens on, and I get the grain properly focused on the face of the ground glass, just like it says in the manual.
