HVX HD 720 24p mp2 DVD -- no template?!?

[KuriousJorj]

I'm shooting 720 24p, and on the Vegas 8 timeline, if I want to render to mp2 for DVD output, I've noticed there's NO template for this? Why?

There's HDV 25p and 30p... but no 24p. Why?

What should I render to?

There's no DVD template for HDV. DVDs are SD-only. There's an MPEG-2 template for it, but it's not for DVD.

Use the DVD Architect 24p DVD template. Widescreen.

ARghh! I was afraid of that!

And so saving me hours of research here, and since the HD-DVD is apparently dead, and I don't have a blue-ray burner (and can't afford one and no one has players yet even if I did, and it's template shows ridiculously high resolutions anyhow)...

...will the higher resolution of 720 24p I've been filming carry over at all if I choose the "DVD Architect 24p DVD template - Widescreen?"

Surely it will, otherwise, why even bother filming HD?

thanks DJ

No; DVDs are standard-definition.

The advantage to shooting in HD is starting with a higher-quality master in terms of both resolution and color.
