HVX Footage Imported into FCP.....

Ok- I have a problem. This is the result of an incorrect workflow.

My DP imported the footage we shot on the P2 Card (using HVX) into his Mac using FCP. Apparently, FCP converts the MXFs to MOVs (without losing resolution). So he handed me the converted MOVs.

I use Premiere Pro CS3 on a PC. When i tried importing the MOVs, i get a "File Import Failure" message saying "Codec Missing or unavailable".

Do you guys know what codec i would need to install to get these files imported into Premiere Pro on PC?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Yes, and it's not free. You need the DVCPRO-HD Decoder from www.dvfilm.com.

Apple converts the files into proprietary Mac-only Quicktime files. They don't support them in the Windows version of Quicktime. To work with them on a Windows machine you need the Raylight DVCPRO-HD Decoder, or something comparable to it.

Thank you for that Barry.

From your response i assume that there are other companies offering similar decoders? Can you suggest couple more?
