HVX-FCP nightmare, basic settings help needed.

I imported footage from my HVX via the P2 viewer, all shot in 720p/60. For some reason, I didn't notice, but 2 of my timelines were set to dv/ntsc and one was set to DVC PRO HD. I have already done a lot of editing and can't seem to get a timeline that will accept my footage. When I move stuff (copy and paste) from the incorrect timeline into the dvc pro hd timeline, it gets way stretched out. Is there a way to move what I have done without it messing it up? Also even in the DVCPRO HD timeline, the timeline needs to render footage I bring in from the bin before I even do anything to it. My friend said this should not be necessary and something must be out of wack, but I have no idea what to check, or what settings need to be set how. This basic information is not in the manual :"If you shot on an hvx in this mode, set your setting to this:" and this is all i need. I have to show this tomorrow and I'm in panic mode. If anyone can direct me to a simple chart, screen shots, tutorials that show a total FCP beginner how to et everything properly to work with HVX 720p/60 footage in final cut studio, I would REALLY appreciate it. I have been working with 24p for so long, I have never needed to alter anything and now I'm totally lost. Thanks.

I'm probably not the right guy to chime in as I haven't worked with much hd of any kind in fcp, but what I'd do is compare what the settings are for the footage and the timeline in the browser.

You probably need to make some changes to the sequence settings. Changes may include:

-Aspect Ratio - including frame size.
-Pixel Aspect Ratio
-Editing Timebase (framerate)
-Compressor

Scrolling through the Browser you should be able to see what all of those are for your footage and sequence. Any that don't match, match to your footage. It may close the sequence. Just reopen and drop the footage in.

Edit: Not sure if I read this right, but if you don't know how to change your sequence settings: Click on the timeline of the sequence you want to change. Then at the top tool bar click on Sequence, then click Settings. A window will open up where you can make the changes. Make changes that make the sequence the same as the footage. If the timeline doesn't close itself after you make changes, close it yourself then reopen. Then try dropping in footage.

I think the problem may be in the way the clips were imported, is there a way to verify what the clips were shot as to make sure I have the sequence settings right? The p2 viewer didn't seem to have a place to adjust settings?

So looking at the "Vid Rate" column in the browser, I see my footage says 23.98 and the sequences say 59.94. But I shot the clips at 720p/60. Does anyone know how the vid rate may have gotten changed on my clips? Could this have happened upon import in the p2 viewer? Can I change it back or do I have to re-import?

I went back to the panasonic P2 viewer software and the clips were shot in 59.94. I called Apple and they said the version of FCP I'm running (5.1.4) may not be able to handle the high frame rate (?! isn't this a standard HD video setting?) so it knocked it down to an easier to handle frame rate (23.98). Has anyone heard of this happening? Is there an easier way then going into the p2 software and converting every clip and re-building all of my timelines from scratch?
