HVX = death of DVX?

how many of you DVX users are going to get rid of your DVX if and when you get an HVX? I personally am going to try and keep my DVX as a back up...
also... is this website going to change to HVXUSER.com?

there will still be thousands of us that use the dvx on here. I cant afford the new one yet, plus when everyone sells theres to get the new one there should be some sweet deals.

It's OK... there's plenty of farmers, ranchers and a few hillbillies in my state. Farmers and ranchers are awesome, hard-working salt of the Earth type of people who deserve my respect. Sometimes, I like to amuse myself by imitating their mannerisms and sayings, but I realize by doing so (on the internet) I risk people thinking I'm a "billy".

I'm keeping mine as well. Right now it would be to costly to upgrade (I would need 2 camera and a new computer to handle the content.) And there is not the demand for the HD content from my clients yet, so it would just be overkill. BUt as prices fall I'll switch over. But even then I think I'll probably keep one of my cameras as a backup.

Not gonna decide until I see footage, and when I finish a couple scripts that need that extra ooomph.

I'll wait until after next NAB to make my next big purchase. In the meantime, I expect to pick up a second DVX by finding someone who is eager to buy the HVX and is selling their DVX. ;)

Per meeting terry in person, I can vouch that he is in fact NOT a billy.
:beer:

Panny has dropped DVX price again via rebate. I would guess we will see another drop by end of the year when new HVX comes out. Still, its a big dfference to buy $3k camera vs $10k camera. I expect most people will keep their DVX and rentals (HVX) will get popular again. At least thru 2006 until we all figure out workflow and post issues.

I'm like terry - hoping one of you guys that are buying the HVX when it hits the market gets desperate to dump your perfectly fine DVX in my lucky little hands at a SWeeeeEET discount.

Of course, the death of video tape as we all now know and love is imminent as the true medium for storing footage is the P2 magic storage card that is soon to be among us.

Praise the Gods of Panny for their devine intervention in saving us from the evil who's name is MiniDV.

Bloody hell....."HVX = death of DVX?"......someone has way too much time on their hands if they're actually asking this slop.

Terry a "Billy", never.......Betty-Joe, hmm.....judge for yourself.....personally I think he beats his cowbell a little toooo much:huh:
