HVX capture from tape - settings...

I'm trying to capture HVX footage from a tape, and I can't get premiere to recognize my camera! I tried pc dub mode and mcr/vcr mode, neither work, it says "capture device offlline". I have my HVX connected to a PC via USB 2.0 - How do I get the footage into Premiere Pro 2.0?

I didnt know you could capture video using Usb. I thought Firewire was the only way.

Use FireWire to capture footage in PPro! PPro can not capture via USB.

still not working with Firewire! What settings do I need, since premiere doesn't yet support the hvx controller? also which device type do I use? (premiere)

use firewire, have the switch in tape mode, and put the camera in VCR mode.
