HVX bats slow mo

Wow your clip just DLed and it is great!

The intro is a little bit long (human part), but I think the whole thing is really good.

You should go for some shots from the boat that goes under the bridge. Actually those might be shots from the tour boats.

Also that silhouette at the end would look really nice with a few bats flying through.

Man, that Congress Ave. bridge is awesome. I made the mistake of going under it and getting crapped on...and man, did it smell nasty. Very cool footage.

THAT, was awesome! I'll have to put that on my list of places to shoot. :)
Course, my wife would be freaking out.
Nice work!

Thanks for the comments. I shot this with the stock lens, and was only there for about 5-10 mins. It was also shot all handheld, the bats did all the work for me. This camera is amazing! The uncompressed footage looks much better and I haven't even seen it on an HD monitor.

Great footage... I have shot alot of photography off that bridge and have seen a few bats out there before...but I guess I just wasn't there at the right times to see them swarm like that... Amazing stuff.

That footage looked really good. I love it that people keep asking if it was shot using a 35mm adaptor. If you work on the long end of the lens it has the same effect as using an adaptor.

Very good point Drew. I usually shoot on the long end of my DVX lens all the time, only because it produces pretty amazing results. I don't think people have tapped into the never-ending aspects of these panasonic cameras.

Anyways, I still think the bat footage is great man. Very good job once again. When I get back down to Austin, we'll have to meet up sometime. That dvxuser meeting should be coming up soon.
