HVX + 35mm + stockings = ?

This weekend I am shooting a commercial, using the HVX with a 35mm adaptor (not sure which one yet) and probably Zeiss Super Speeds or Ultra Primes. Mostly day exteriors in the desert, some interiors to be lit.

I am considering adding a nylon or silk stocking to either the rear or front element of the lens to diffuse the image and make some glowing highlights. But I am worried that considering the 35 adaptor and 35 lens on the HVX -- that's lots of glass -- adding a stocking may be too much to ask from this setup. Anyone tried this?

Update: Looks like it is going to be the mini35 with the Super Speeds.

J P it's J.P. here...
I've stuck allsorts infront of the lens and mostly wished I'd tried something in post

I haven't tried a net on an 35mm adapter but I have used a net extensively on a f900.
It can be tricky. 1st you need to attach properly. 2nd you should use a looser pattern net, such as a Tulle. 3rd, shoot wide open and on a tighter lens.

I would avoid in front. just not the same

It looks UFB when lit properly. I say test and go.
