My HVX finally I arrive from B&H and I'm stoked. It's rigged up with 5 4GB P2 Cards and I've got a dedicated 15" Powerbook playing sidekick. Over the ast week I've been pawning off all my old gear (XL1s & FX1) in order to put some dough together to pimp my Panasonic. I've put my purchase list together and thought I'd bounce it off all y'all to make sure I'm not totally blowing it.
Check it out:

Marshall V-R70P-HDA

M2 Indie Bundle 1295

Micro Follow Focus Indie Bundle

CHROSZIEL 450-HVX200K 1559

CARTONI FOCUS 1-STAGE TRIPOD KIT 1329

BOGEN Fig Rig 595B

I'll be picking up some filters as well; Polarizer, ND, Grad ND. I've been checking into 35mm lenses but am still a bit confused about where to start. Holler.

Sounds like you got a nice wish list. I have a questions and a comment.

Question: What is the M2 Indie Bundle?
Comment: Ive found that if youre not getting a full-on Sachtler tripod kit, going half-way isnt worth the cash. For my DV stix, I do have a Sachtler 18 Kit, but I also use a cheap Bogen Manfrotto kit that cost $450... Honestly, it does a killer job for most of my work. Obviously, I dont know your requirement...but I visited BH and did a lil hands on shopping and was stoked to find this for the do-re-me. I didnt feel the Cartoni kit was any better... I wouldnt have believed it if I didnt see it with my own eyes. Just something to consider. Lemme know what you think.

The M2 Indie Bundle is a 35mm lens adapter. The kit includes (copied and pasted from redrockmicro.com):
 • M2 Cinema Lens Adapter
 • Special M2 HD Achromatic lens
 • 15mm Rod Support System
 • Nikon SLR lens mount
What Bogen Manfrotto kit are you using? The word I've been getting is that my setup is getting a bit heavy and that the bogen stuff would be a mess. Of cvourse I'd love to go with the Sachtler Kit but the price tag's a bit much for now. Anyway, let me know what kit you're using because I'd love to check it out.

Tripods and Heads vary considerably in terms of feel, whatever you are planning to buy, I suggest you rent one and work with it on a shoot before making a purchase... rent a Sachtler (my favorite) or whatever it is you like, or are considering, and use it, then decide. Tripod/Head combos are like driving a car... each has it's unique feel... talking about tripods is like dancing about architecture (apologies to Elvis Costello) you have to experience it... and determine what's right for you through experience.

This is my actual list -more so for feature work:

1 HVX200

2 x 8GB cards

2 x 5400 MaH batts

1 Astro 8" LCD (mountable on camera)

1 Sony 9" HD-SDI CRT with Kata bag

1 Sony 20" HD-SDI CRT

1 O'Connor 2575B Fluid Head

1 Ronford Standard Legs

1 Ronford Baby Legs

1 Hi Hat

1 32" Jimmy Jib Triangle with Dutch Head

1 Chrosziel Matte box 3 stage (2 x 4x4.65, 1 4x4)

30 filters (4 x 4.65)

1 Chrosziel dual-sided follow focus ( +the focus ring from 16x9 Inc)

1 Apple 17" G4 Powerbook with Express Pro 5.5 HD

I'm hoping to add the P&S mini35. I cannot afford to wait for the M2, so this is what I have to use. I was on the pre-order list for the G35 but they've vaporized.

That's a good call. It's time to get my hands dirty with some rentals. Any advice on lenses? In particular, primes? Furthermore, as a junior member, I'd really appreciate a Senior's opinion on the package I posted above as well (minus the tripod of course).

Joe_D: Could you be more specific on the matte box setup you're using? Also, why are you choosing 4x4.65 filters instead of 4x4?

Don't go with the chrosziel.... they are backordered and hard to get right now anyway. Goto www.zacuto-rentals.com and get the petroff mattebox and base w/ rods that they carry. I just got it and it is a much higher build quallity IMO than the chrosziel.
