Does anyone know of any good underwater housing for the HV30.
I've looked B&H and I really cant decide.
I want something strong but yet not over the top expensive.

I would say my budget allows no more then $400
Anyone used any of the following.
Epic Pro HD Mechanical Video Housing

Also I really want nothing to do with zip lock bag looking ones.lol
Thanks

I've got an Equinox housing for my Canon HF100. (It's actually for sale in the marketplace.)

It's well-made, and for the price (a little above your range), it's a very nice housing. I wouldn't hesitate to use it in the toughest conditions.

I've also used the "ziploc-baggie-style" housings made by Ewa-Marine. (Both my HVX and HPX went in them.) If you're working at or around the surface, they're fine. Beyond that, you takes your chances.

His specialty is underwater photography, and I believe he uses a Sea & Sea housing. For the most part, underwater video shooters I've worked with generally use Gates housings, but they're crazy-expensive. Having used a few different brands, I'd say at the less-expensive end of the equation, the Equinox is the best, and Ikelite not too far behind in second. I like the Equinox because it's beefier and it feels "made for video" as opposed to the Ikelite which doesn't have the same quality feel to me.
