HV30 or 20 advice

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has had any luck putting an adapter on an HV20 or HV30, and if they had shared their experiences with it. I have a letus extreme and have been shooting student projects with it all year on hvxs and XDcams, and now I was thinking of getting an HV30 to shoot with this summer now that our schools equipment is unavailable.

If anyone could link me to some information, or share with me their experiences I would be very grateful. Thanks a lot.

There is just way too much info on this...and examples.... I suggest you do a search for Phil Bloom and check out his Website. He has an excellent example of the HV20 + adapter. Also check out Vimeo.com.

Folks have been quite happy with the Brevis rig as pictured above. We're a bit unique in that swapping an imaging element is all that is required to transform the unit from use with the little HV20/30 to use with cameras like the HVX200. These small cams have very different optical paths meaning that using them with a non-optimized system will cause a great deal of vignetting, with wide angle lenses particularly. The MP.1 microprocessor based system means that oscillation tuning (critical for the little cams) is a snap with external adjustment.

One of the best pieces I've seen done with the HV20 is "A Thousand Words".

CF1 on the hv30 is pretty impressive, I must admit. Rigging it sensibly can be the hard part. Also, knowing when to stop rigging your little handycam also seems to be difficult.

Hahaha, thanks Arrik and thanks to everyone else so far who has posted info! I agree that it wouldn't be the best solution possible, and that you can only push a little consumer camera so far, im just trying to see what my options are for owning a camera this summer on a tight student's budget.

If anyone else has information I would love to hear it.
Thanks again!

Ian
