The demographic of this board is primarily middle aged white males, I would imagine. All of about three people here are going to go see these movies. Rize isn't even showing in my home town.

I dug H&F, the second act was a little long, but I love the moral of the story, because it's one of the few bits of hollywood wisdom that truly seem viable to me:

At first glance I wasn't interested in seeing this; I can only handle umpteen 'in the hood/gangsta/urban poverty' films.

But now knowing the indeipendent side of things; I'll be seeing this (waiting for DVD). My brother-in-law said is was wonderful.

I just saw hustle and flo and yeah man, this movie is great. Reminds me of back in the days when i used to have 20 friends over from highschool rapping and scratching at the house. My parents would come in after work and see everyone and yell. GET THE **** OUT!!!
Its funny and I could laugh at it now but back then i wanted to kill them for that. My friends made fun of me all the time about it. Some were even afraid to come back over.

I thought the movie dipped a little into cheesiness at times, but yet managed to be really powerful. Of course we're all suckers for that story...

i kinda liked it mainly becuase it was like a 70's film feel to it. and the titles made me love that reasoning and then i got into it better. so the movie was a plus. of course there was cheese but it was mild.
