A week or so ago I posted some comments in a thread about Zacuto prices, ending it with a little zinger that a few people found amusing. It's at the bottom of this page:

Well...turns out the folks at Zacuto have quite a healthy sense of humor too. I got a PM later that day titled "Funny" from Mandy Rogers, Zacuto's sales manager. I don't think she'll mind my pasting it in here:

Nice joke about your .2 cent being $20 in Zacuto terms. How about a free z-mount?
Contact Mandy at Zacuto and mention your post!"

Needless to say I was stunned, and wrote back immediately to that effect, along with my profuse thanks. I called Mandy the next day, but had to leave a message, so unfortunately I didn't get to thank her again more directly. She wrote back that the free Z-Mount was on its way! A few days later, I had it. Check out the pic of it on top of its $0 invoice...
So...I've decided to become a professional comedian to finance my HVX rig : )

Kidding aside, I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Mandy, Steve Weiss, Jens Bogehegn and everyone else at Zacuto for their generosity, and sincerely applaud them for their grace under fire. A sense of humor is a beautiful thing.
Naturally, I will look for every possible excuse now to buy one of their *exceptionally great* products, even though they're insanely expensive : )
Except when they give them away to jokers like me... : )
