I've been meaning to write this but I wanted to wait and see how my two quest fest films turned out and what kind of reviews I'd get and they were better than I was expecting so here's why I'm saying thanks.
If I never joined this site I would not have been this far into filmmaking as I am now (5th year of filmmaking) There's two big majorities about this site that I love. The people/users and the festivals.
All you dvxusers are awesome! I love how you can post anything at whatever topic and get great answers and feedback to it. That is just awesome! I've learned a whole whole lot from many many users on this site and can't say thank you enough to everyone.
The festivals. This is what started to have my films improve. If there was never a festival every 5-6 with a different theme attached to it I'd not be as far as I am now. I love how there is a theme so we can all make a different film each time. And whatever that theme is it can come out to be any genre. I'm not a writer and it takes me a while to come up with a good idea and theme to hand over to the writer. I started with Time Fest and it really wasn't my best film ever. It's ok if you go watch it and say it sucked. It was a start. You can tell the improve from time fest, loss fest, to this/quest fest. I've come out to make a short film every month (10 mins or less shorts) and you can tell each one gets better and better. Only 3 are non-dvx films. But all you guys giving feedback on my films has really helped me out tons!
Then one more I just remembered was some of these writers and composers willing to work for free for you for some of these films. That is awesome, you guys are awesome for doing that for us!
Thanks everyone, I'm going to continue being involved on this site for as long as it lasts and keep entering the fests and getting more dvx member contacts. Great People on this site and good people who run the site to keep it going!
