Huge Price Drop on DJI X5R camera

For all the UAV shooters out there, DJI has dropped the price on its latest X5R Raw camera from around $6000 at announcement to $3199 at B&H.

The reason this camera is so exciting is it is the first DJI camera to offer 4K above the 60/mbs compression.

This would be more exciting if I had seen at least one video that has image quality which lives up to the hype of being able to shoot 4K RAW. I've been disappointed with the image quality of sample videos I've seen thus far.

Despite the hype I feel the price is still high. Waiting to see Go Pro's response.

I don't know...hard to beat those specs for the price. Are there any Micro Four Thirds cameras that currently shoot 4K RAW video for around $3k?

I'm pretty sure it will just look like RAW footage from a GH4. Whether that is good enough or not, I don't know

The GH4 can shoot 4K RAW video? Is this a hack or magic lantern thing?
RAW still image footage. Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you. To be more specific, it will look a lot like the DNG footage from the X5, which appears to have the same sensor as the GH4.

No problem. Yeah the X5 RAW stills are amazing! If the X5R has that quality for its RAW video it will be a huge jump in IQ for Inspire 1 owners.

I'm hoping that it will be huge leap. That way, when I inevitably wrap my X5 gimbal around a tree or the Inspire mysteriously falls out of the sky, I will feel justified in upgrading to an X5R. I just wish I could expect an upgrade on lowlight performance.

Same here. The X3/X5 both use 60/mbs 4:2:0 at 4K, which is highly compressed. The X5R will be 1.7/Gbs, 4:4:4 at 4K, it will be the only 4K RAW video aerial camera in that price range when it comes out.
