It would be interesting if someone said they watched it.
I just got my pre-order because anything from rush has got to be good

Hi Logan, here is a synopsis:
It's a comprehensive DVD set the goes through scriptwriting, blocking, lighting, audio, camera, and editing. We explore hundreds of production concepts with actors in studio and living sets. The concepts work no matter what format you use, but mostly, the course was shot with an HVX200. You watch a movie that teaches you how to become a writer, then another segment that further explores writing. After that we go into production for about 10 hours. Then a segement on editing practice and color correction. We use simple commonly available gear, nothing esoteric. Most lighting setups use kits that cost under $2000. The whole set is voice-over live video and freeze frames with icons and illustrations on top. We don't hide anything, and a lot of times, DP Extrodinaire Evin Grant demonstrates the techniques for you. The set gets more expensive as time goes by, until it reaches $449. You can also buy DVD updates for a fraction of the original price.

Edit: added synopsis. :)

Here's a mini-review:

What Rush had at Bootcamp looked great. The footage is good and they seem very thorough in showing both the hows and whys of any effect they achieved. I can't speak for final product but what I've seen looks like it would turn out to be above and beyond any similar products I've seen, especially at the price.

That said, I need to scrape up some cash to buy it myself! Something about how people only listen if you speak with your wallet?

I also saw some of it at boot camp. And wow Rush did a good job. It look top notch and is very informative. I think is a must have for someone that wants to get into the game and has no idea how to start. But I also think there is allot of things in there that would benefit an old pro. So good work Rush and I highly recommend picking a copy up and at that price point why not

My goodness, what a couple weeks it's been. This sure has been an adventure. The last packages went out today, all the pre-orders satisfied. Manuals and supplementary Prep-CD will mail out at the end of the month. I want to thank everyone who ordered the series for their infinite patience, and hope that all my customers feel that in the 6-DVD set, there is a little something for everyone. :) Please email me you have any questions about the series.

The PrepCD and Manual? No they come with the series for free. I guess I never thought of selling them separately. Is that what you're asking Logan?

If I only wanted the Lighting DVD for now. It would be kind of nice because you'd get the DVD you wanted/needed and you could see what the rest of them would be like.

You mean the free DVXuser gift? That will be done around Cinegear, and yes you can get that separately if you like. But right now, there isn't really one lighting DVD per se. The series starts with a 2.5 hour Basic Production DVD that gets into lighting big time. Then you really delve into lighting for 5 hours in the Movie Production DVD's (which go for 12 hours and cover everything). Here is the guide for that DVD, see if it's what you're looking for: :)
