I did some test shots today with my HPX170/Letus Ultimate and there is a lot of
play/slop between the zoom ring and the body of the camera that is exacerbated
by the DOF adapter, prime lens and follow focus. I was getting huge side to side
shifting of the image when focusing, I could see the whole camera twist when I'd
get to the end of focus travel. This was using one support under the Ultimate without a screw through the support into the DOF adapter.
I have now added a second support and a screw going into the Ultimate and everything is much more stable, back to where I was with a 200A or EX1. However, I'm wondering how an HPX170 with clip on matte box or wide angle adapter or follow focus would interact with the slop between the zoom ring and body? I'm wondering if this is just this camera or if they are all so sloppy?
Anybody using an HPX170 and a DOF adapter, especially Letus Extreme or Ultimate, please let me know your experience with this combination.
