HPX170 Prices

I've been shopping around for the HPX170. Is $3995 from a reputable place a fair deal? I am a capitalist and believe in profit for business people. I just want to make sure I'm not leaving too much on the table. Is buying a camera like buying a car with all the haggling? I also want a 64GB P2 card and the best so far is $899. Thanks for any input.
 
$3995 sounds kinda low. where is that from? you sure its an authorized/reputable dealer? there is a lot of grey-market tomfoolery out there...

and yeah $900ish for a 64gig e-series card is about right.
 
Whenever you buy from a store that is not B&H or Adorama, use resellerratings.com to see if the store is "legit" or not. There are a lot of scams out there...

Please realize that although we don't shy away from pointing out the pros and cons of our competition (it's, well... competition!), we don't dump on or slander other Authorized dealers.

For better or for worse, B&H is a boxhouse. They are reputable Authorized dealer. We are here to help you, and we strive to be active in the community, offering service and support that many dealers often lack. If that care and support is worth having a company like us around, I ask that it's weighed in on your decision over $50 (which if you count the added value of a free battery or CoverLens, it's a better deal).

Having said that:

Avoid Adorama. Sometimes they get cameras through legitimate channels. You could get lucky.

They have sold used cameras as new. They have sold blackmarket cameras as new, whether they were aware of it or not is irrelevant. You could get very unlucky. It is not worth the risk.

In the end, we hope you're happy with your camera where ever you purchase from.
