I recently got a huge thumb print on my brand new HPX170 lens. I reached first for my compressed air, got all the particles off, then buffed off the smudge with the microfiber cloth. Alot of smearing was left so I decided to use my breath combined with the micro fiber cloth.
That seemed to only make the smearing worse. I didn't use lens cleaning fluid because the last time I used some, I got permanent nasty smearing on my lens, and rubbed off some of the coating.
Is it possible to rub a lens so much with a micro fiber cloth that you remove the coating?
Do you guys clean your HVX200/HPX170 lenses often? What do you use?
