HPX-5000 slots become inoperable

I was shooting with my brand new HPX-500 this week and at the start of the second day of shooting, slots 1 and 2 become inoperable. Either slot would not recognize P2 cards. Thank goodness slots 3 and 4 continued to work. Has this happened to anyone? Is there a solution other than sending it to NJ for service?

Slot 1 and 2 inoperable

This happened to me. My HPX was shipped to me that way. I sent to Panny in NJ and they fixed it in a day and sent it back. Price we pay for jumping into technology I guess.

Hi,

I need both of the posters to email me ASAP with their full name, address and serial numer on their cameras. crittendenj at us. panasonic.com.

Please for all the guys that might find that this is a great way to speak to me directly, I get 300+ emails a day. It just is not possible to do my job and answer emails.

Anyhow, I am totally interested in any customer that has found an inoperative slot in a camera.

Thanks,

Jan

Sorry to ask the obvious... but I assume that since you had used the camera before, that the cards were not new, and that they had been formated from the camera?

I received some new cards this week that displayed the very same behavior until properly formated.

Best of luck with your problem.

Thanks for responding. I'll contact Jan. All my cards were formatted in the camera before using them and I had used the camera a couple of times before the slots became inoperable.
