HPX 5.6 Preset Green tint/Manual 5.6 perfect...?

Hey everybody!

I just got back from my first shoot with the HPX... a 2 week whirlwind tour around the state of Washington.

I am using the Fujinon 2x kit lens and noticed this strange occurence with the preset 5.6k ... It has a very green cast... but when I set the WB manually to 5.6k it looks great especially with a -2 in the temp adjustment...

Has anyone else experienced this? How can 5.6k have 2 different looks? Do I need to send in my cam?

how ar eyou setting the white balance manually - there is no provision for that - if you happen to get that setting when you manually white balance you need to remember that you are using all the color matrixes when setting white balance - not just blue-orange - so other colors are balanced a certain way in the preset.

I personally never use the presets.
 
Check your cac lens setting in the lens menu. You may be using the wrong setting. I think the default setting may be for canon lens not fuji.
Just a guess.
 
I double checked my CAC setting and it is on the right setting...

I guess I am not sure what you are saying smelni... the color matrix can affect the WB?

It seems like 5.6k would be 5.6k?

I don't usually use the preset either but was in rush and flipped it over... was really taken aback by the green tint...
 
I've had the same problem - identical package - I've manually set lens shading (which helped considerably) and CAC, but the image is still slightly on the warm-green side...

Unfortunatly there is no way (that I've found) to customize the built in 5600 or 3200 presets.. I have set my manual "B" preset to 5600d, since this is the one I need on the fly the most.. I am using Cine Matrix and that seems to be the source of the problem -- I like it (Cine Matrix) otherwise, though, so I live with it..

I've been shooting for a month and a half and it doesn't look so bad to me anymore, I guess I'm getting used to it... actually, in some instances the greenish color is interesting so I chose it - and it is correctable in post.. annoying though...
 
I got the camera just a few days before I had to start shooting so I didn't have time to figure out except while I was actually doing it. I ended with the same system you're using with the B on 5.6k with -2 in the temp adj, cine matrix and everything else zero'd out. Worked great except when I mistakenly would change the WB and have to hunt around for 5.6
 
xianchi - the white balance does not only balance the blue - orange - but it in fact balances all color to make white white - try white balanceing on something green and you will see a magenta shift.
