HPX-170 with the Letus Extreme?

Hi all:

I know most of you (Luis, etc.) have not yet received your HPX-170. Does anyone have any ideas on how the Letus Extreme will perform on the 170? I was going to spring for the HVX-200 optimization kit for my Letus Extreme but now that I am switching to the 170, I don't know if I need to plan on getting some sort of optimization kit with the 170 to maximize edge to edge sharpness and to minimize vignetting.

Anyone heard anything from the Le Brothers or any of our other Letus friends about how the 170 will behave with the Extreme? I already have the 72mm adapter that I bought to use the Extreme with my DVX so I am set there.

Thanks,

Dan

It'll work fine. Just like any other camera will! I heard through the grapevine that they're working on a 170 optimization kit... that could be a farce though.

Regardless, it'll work just as well as it does with your DVX with the new HPX

yeah, i mean i didnt really see any reason their would be an issue. Tho, I'm pumped to see some users footage.

I have an HPX170 on order for my Ultimate as well and am hoping for better edge to edge
focus than what I'm seeing with a 200A. The Letus achromat is doing a better job with an EX1 than a 200A.

Right now, with a 200A, if center focus shows a read out of 35, corner focus is 36. This isn't just apparent on a wedge chart, if I have talent on frame left or right, I have to shift the focus from what was optimum for center.

Has anybody else had this issue? I would have expected an HVX200 Optimization kit to do
better and find it odd that the same achromat is used for the EX1 Optimization kit. The good news is that I see absolutely no chromatic aberration with the 200A, I do see a bit on
the edges with the EX1.
