i have shot footage on my new hpx 170 and am editing on fcp. i have a question about the best settings to export with for full quality. i have shot 720p 30pn at 60 fps. i have been searching online about the best way export and what codec to use but when i use anything (no matter what codec) i get this thing that says quality:medium and i want the quality to be best but there is no where to change it. look at this picture to see what im talking about. any help would be greatly appreciated

That looks like the dialogue box that appears when you click the "Options" button when exporting using Quicktime conversion. It relates to a particular codec, namely 10-bit uncompressed, which you would change by clicking the "Settings" button and adjusting the settings or selecting another codec. As to the rest of your post, you are asking very general questions that suggest you might profit from doing some further background reading on codecs and workflow generally. The FCP user manual is a great resource in this respect and would be a good place to start if you are so inclined.

Hope that helps,
Kevin

The quality says MEDIUM...that is normal. Why it says that, who knows. But when you import from that camera you are importing at full quality, no recompression...zero quality loss. Exporting a QT movie, self contained will be the best quality you can export.
