HPX-170 and Letus Ext.

Hi!

I would like to buy Letus Extreme Starter Bundle for HPX-170.

Questions?:
Must I have an Extreme with a removable rear achromat lens for this kit to work?
Is this tha same kit like for HVX-200 or 35mm Lens Adapter with 72mm Ring is enough?

I dont now what to order now:( :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):
 
I have an Ultimate, not an Extreme, but the new achromat used for HVX200 and EX1, works great with the HPX170--better than with the HVX200 for edge to edge focus. So, I would think this achromat would be necessary for an Extreme/HPX170 combo, but I've never tried it.
 
I also have an Ultimate/170 combo, and the HVX achromat, and it does indeed produce fantastic edge-to-edge. It would seem reasonable to think that the same achromat would be necessary for the Extreme, but I don't know.
 
I think the HVX / Letus setup is one of the most ideal cam / 35mm setups available. Very little that has come from this rig that I haven't been amazed at. I'm sure will be the same with the HPX.
 
So is the EX-1 achromat and the HVX achromat the same glass with different size threading?

i ask because i'm selling my ex-1 and either getting an hpx-170 or hvx-200a, i'm leaning towards the 170 because it has more features and i don't need tape.

i have a letus set up for the EX-1 and am hoping to avoid the $350 to switch it over to whatever panasonic i choose...

That's correct, same achromat, different ring. The HPX170 is superior in edge to edge vs. HVX200/A using the same achromat, looks as good e to e as the EX1, albeit with less overall resolution.
 
Has anyone with a pre-Dec '07 Extreme tried replacing the achromat themselves? Letus Direct told me that I can change it out myself but it has me nervous about how exactly to accomplish that. The pre-Dec '07 Letus Extremes did not have the threaded achromat, it is just somehow sealed into the body of the Extreme with a rubber washer, it looks like? The later models had a threaded achromat.

Letus has never been big on providing clear instructions and manuals and I don't want to screw up my Extreme.

How does the combo look with just the stock LEX achromat?
It is DEFINATELY worth paying the extra $ for the ex1 achromat?
I just ordered an LEX for my 170 without an additional achromat and the dvx 72mm mount.
 
So what do I order exactly on the Adapterplace?
The HVX-200 Optimization Kit? And seperate a HPX170 72 ring?
