How's your experience with Intel iMac and FCP5.1

Getting ready to drop some dough on this, thought I should ask in case anyone out there's had a bad experience or knows of one. Appreciate a heads up if problems are beginning to surface. Thanks.
 
It's been working great for me. It's a lot faster than when I was running it on my 1.5 GHZ Powerbook. I haven't done any huge projects or anything yet, but what I have done has worked without a hitch.
 
Would be interesting to know if you work with DV, HDV or DVCPRO HD. Four years old computers worked great with DV too...
 
the intel imac g5 is quite smooth. ive found render and encoding times a little faster than a powermac g4. working with DV. So i dont think im pushing the machine to its limits. though i must mention im using the older fcp and its still running faster than a friends g4. i think with he upgrade to universal software it'll give me far better speeds...so it might be a good idea for you too. i'm quite satisfied with mine
