that looks to me to be little more than those work floods you can buy at home depot. you can see the reflection of the square light on the vehicle in certain shots.

I agree. Just well placed. For a few quick shots where you could see out of the side window they probably had the background light attached to the car so they wouldnt have to light huge areas at night. Also when they were trying to fake the light from the flash light they used something else. A spoted fresnel would have worked.
